Is the equipment you are wearing really protecting you from receiving a concussion or injury? One might agree and some might disagree. One might also say that one has to be in their best form and as for an athlete; you must take that time to look after oneself. Some of the best ways to prevent injuries in any kind of sport is self-massage and massage, incorporating some warm up and cool down stretches.

Self-massage strengthens your immune system helping in the aid of prevention of colds and flues, making one stronger and healthier so the athlete can perform at their peck at all times. 6. Coordination and balance will help keep them mobile and less prone to injury from unnecessary falls due to lack of balance!

These are just some of the benefits that self-massage, massage and stretching can do to help a Skier, Skater or any kind of athlete that even means you; to prevent injury when being active. But the most important thing here is how healthy and safe you are. An athlete wants to be at their best and continue at the sport of their choice, they will do want it takes. If that means wearing protective gear like a mouth guard, padded vests, headgear that might feel like it is on the way, eat healthy, and the most important for the body, muscles and mind to be in balanced and feeling clear through self-massage and stretching!
