Are you kidding me----PAINLESS childbirth is a freakin joke! The only way it would have been painless is if someone had beat me about the head until I was no longer lucid AND I was hopped up on morphine. I can't help but laugh at the idea of painless childbirth. Have you ever had a leg cramp? Childbirth is like a leg cramp times ten million and no amount of standing up and walking it off can help. Drugs help. Drugs and more Drugs. Thank you Jesus for the epidural.

I'm sorry for you. It's not your fault. It's faulty programming and bad information that was provided to you. And the people who did that to you didn't know any better - so it's not their fault either. I'm sorry that you missed out on experiencing the joy of a natural childbirth. It honestly CAN be pain free. (Not saying work free - or absolutely NO discomfort - but less discomfort than monthly cramps for sure.) I had 6 natural childbirths - 5 of them pain free.
By 'faulty programming' I'm referring to things in your subconscious that you believe that are not universally true - for instance that near painless childbirth is not possible. I know that it IS because not only have I experienced it - and 2 of my grown daughters have experienced - but many of our friends share similar experiences. My intent is to HELP - not to in any way defraud. I'm quite shocked at much of the comments I have received (posted the question in several categories) - I knew many people carried beliefs of mandatory pain for childbirth - but I had no idea what a huge percentage of people believe this or how deeply and horribly they believe it. I feel very sorry for these women.
