What Massage is Right for you?

Article by Melina Noemi

Here are a couple of ideas that we offer and you should consider at On the SKINNY Wrap & Spa

Feeling sick? Try Russian Lymphatic FlushMassage enhances the body's natural flow by increasing lymphatic circulation through the body's natural filtration system. This increased circulation assists in detoxifying the body and supports health through a more efficient immune system.

Just want to just relax? Try Lomi LomiThis healing art form uses rhythmic, flowing forearm strokes from light to deep to relax muscles, increase circulation, and promote overall well-being. Using full body strokes.

Sore from a work out or run? Try sportsHelps to drain away fatigue, relieve swelling, reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility and prevent injuries. Includes stretching and range of motion.

On your lunch break, and have no time? Try a mini 30 minute massageYou can choose to have the focus of this 30-minute massage for your back, neck and shoulders, or your neck, shoulders, and scalp. Either choice will help to relieve the stress and tension from your day.

Where to go?Today we can go to a day spa, retreat, resort, and when you don't have time to break away from you hectic schedule, have the Massage Therapist bring the spa experience to you!

Find the best Massage Therapist for youFirst off, we should not entrust our bodies to a unlicensed massage therapist. They might ensure us of their talents, but it is never safe. Also, do not just try one therapist. All therapists have their own style and technique, find one that you feel comfortable with and are in total relaxation with. Talk with them, ensure that they know specifically what you would like, problem areas, and that it is not a rush rush appointment.Other questions you may still have are 1- Am I suppose to tip?15-20% is the standard spa tip if you are satisfied. However, in the medical field, if you receive a massage in a chiropractic office, it is up to you, and there are no standards.

2- Do I have to be naked? The massage therapist will advise you to dress down to whatever makes you comfortable. Most people will leave their under garments on, and others like to experience the full body stroke of relaxation. It is 100% up to you. No that no matter what, the therapist will drape you professionally so that you will always be covered and are never unprofessionally exposed. It is a safe environment.

3- Do I have to get undressed in front of the therapist? No, the therapist will step out and give you a few moments to get comfortable on the table. Go a head and take your time. Half way through the session, when it is time to turn over, the therapist will let you know it is time to turn over, he/she will step out of the room and let you get comfortable.

4-Male or female therapist? If you are uncomfortable with on or the other, just let them know when you book your appoint. Its no big deal, just say I would like to book a massage appointment with a male/female therapist. You can avoid the embarrassment of being booked with one you are uncomfortable with, and having to tell them. You may also be unable to request that if they are a small practice and have limited therapist. Call ahead.

5- How do you know if it a legit massage practice?Sometimes its hard to spot on out, but just remember to ask questions! Do you have licensed massage therapist? Do you provide questioners for the clients? It is 100% therapeutic?

6- Should I talk during the massage?Feel free to make conversation with the therapist. Advise them if its too cold or warm in the room, if the pillow is to high or low, how the pressure is, if you need a tissue, or any questions and concerns you have about your treatment. However, you may relax and fall into 7th heaven.

7-What if I get an erection?

A lot of men wont even book a massage from the thought of getting an erection and would be unable to relax because of the thought of it. However, it is perfectly normal for men to get an erection during a non sexual massage. Massage can activate the parasympathetic nervous system and cause a partial or full erection. Massage therapist are professional though and will just ignore it.

8- What if I drool of noise is dripping? It is common for clients to fall asleep. Do not be afraid to ask for a tissue.
