Entry from: Levanto, Italy Entry Title: "Cinque Terre - the ultimate battery recharger" Entry: "We have been to some beautiful places and had a blast but we are burnt out. The issues with the car, the constant sightseeing and moving is catching up with us so we look at a map of Italy and see what is close to Lugano, Switzerland. Lake Como is a stones throw away but we suspect it to similar to Switz, there is Milan but seems like a little NYC and we are not looking for big city stuff, there is Florence but too much too see and we want to rest...so we look a little west and see the Ligurian Coast - the Italian Riviera - specifically Cinque Terre...just what we need. We look online and decide that we will stay in Levanto (a village north of Monterosso not one of the Cinque but very cool) because it is easier to park and has more last minute accomadation availability. We find a great place online (Hotel Carla) looks so modern and clean so we are psyched. Guy gives us a great rate over the phone. So the whole 6 hour drive there (3 of which is through mountains and tiny winedy roads) all we can think about is our great place and 4 days of relaxation. We get there, find a spot right out front, check-in (lobby is beautiful, bar looks cool) then go to our room...BOOM...what the f@#k. The room is a dive, We ...
