Majority of individuals like getting a massage but very few people feel comfortable giving a massage to someone else. We're scared of accidentally hurting the other person. Also, it's possible to feel afraid that the massage might not be good enough. We're afraid that they won't like what we are doing. You will be happy to hear that anybody can learn how to give a great massage whenever they want to do just that. Here's information on how you too can give any person an awesome back massage.

It is vital that the person be comfortable while lying down. They need to be laying down on a surface that is firm enough but still soft. If you don't don't have a massage table, you could try them on the bed. If they are on your floor, place a mat or a couple of soft blankets or towels so that they will feel more at ease. If the person wishes to keep his or her shirt on, see to it that it is of a soft material so there will be less friction and scraping.

Start with a few basic rubbing. Using the whole flat side of your hands, gradually rub up from the lower back toward the neck. Apply a little pressure into this but don't apply full massage pressure at this point. Begin at the base of the back and then slide your hands up the back then across the shoulders and then back down the back. As you keep doing this, make your loops smaller and smaller so that you are certain to cover the entire back.

You can generate good and pointted pressure when you make use of the heels of your hands. Move the heels of your palms in small circles beginning in the middle of the base of the back and then working out toward the sides, upwards and then back toward the spinal column until you've done this to the whole back.

Try sitting at the side of the individual who is getting the massage. Then, set one hand on top of the other and push into the back a little bit with just your fingers. Begin at the backbone and thrust steadily as you move your hands away from the backbone and across the back then lightly glide your hands back across the back toward the spine. Do this step again as you move upward along the back and then do it again on the other side of the person's back.

Work out the spine. Start out at the base of the person's back and then work up all of the sausage like muscles on each side of the spine with two of your fingers or your thumbs. Massage each little node at least five times to produce some friction before moving on to the next. Work all the way up one side of the spine and then rub the other side.

One of the things to bear in mind as you work through these massage techniques is that it is good to re-relax your person between each portion of the massage you're giving. For example, after each technique you apply, perform the basic rub we talked about at the beginning of the article for several minutes.
