What are the requirements for massage therapists?
I live in california and the requirements out here maybe a little different than in new york. But i would first start with research on your state and county requirements for uptaining your licence. Then find a good school that will meet or exceed the hour requirements needed to get your licence. Out here it is 500 hours of schooling. Then apply for the licence and get insurance. I suggest not to pratice massage without insurance, if sued you will have back up. Massage is a rewarding career that with time you will master. Good luck and welcome to a great career!
First, is everyone that gives a massage considered a massage therapist, or are there different degrees of being a professional massage giver? I live in NY state and I'm thinking of becoming a massage therapist but I was wondering what hurdles I'd have to jump to start actually working. Also, how far I'd need to go to actually master the art and become a real massage therapist.
