How to reduce Period Pains?
Seriously, I owe flax seed oil as much as I owe pain killers. It naturally makes hormones more regular. It's cut my moods/pain/flow all in half and it's awesome. I recommend it to everyone.
Also, I like this question. There's a ton of people asking the same stuff
Ok I've seen alot of questions about this and thought I'd give a little advice myself :)
First you should just know why you get menstrual cramps. Your Uterus is shedding its lining causing contractions similar to those when giving birth though slightly less severe, depending on the person.
Dont be afraid to use painkillers guys, I see alot of you who hate them like they come from hell but trust me- I owe the pills ALOT.
Here are some tips to help ease those contractions:
1.NUROFEN MELTLETS- For People Who Need To Work/School
I owe the guys who made this so, so much. I advise you take them for the first two days, two/three a day depending on your needs, morning,lunch and before bed. They are perfect for this type of thing, and I rely on them so so much. For those who dont know: Nurofen is a brand of painkiller.
2.HOT BATH- If You Got A Free Day
Quite frankly the best. I could spend the whole day in a bath with boiling hot water. You need to chill out at this time, just keep changing over the water and take a break
3.DRINK MILK- If You Tried Everything Else And Just Need To Hope It Works
Well it doesn't work for me but I've heard alot of people say there's a chemical in milk that eases the pain
4.HEAT PADS/ HOT WATER BOTTLE- More Time To Chill
Just lay on the sofa or in bed with heat pads or hot water bottles and just watch TV or read with a really, reeaaally hot water bottle/ heat pad on your stomach or lower back
5.YOGA- If You Can Actually Bend Like That
Just sit there with a Yoga book and do whatever you can. But dont cause yourself more pain if you cant do Yoga
6.EXERCISE-Again If You Can Be Bothered To Move
Go for a walk, or light jog to stretch your muscles easing the pain
7.CHOCOLATE-If You Got It
Some people find this helps but be warned- some food is going to make it worse. Dont risk it if you've ever had food poisoning or can be picky about what you eat
8.MASSAGES AND AROMATHERAPY-If You Can Get There Or Do It At Home
It's relaxing, stopping you being quite so tense and making the contractions less difficult
9.ANY KIND OF COMFORT- If You Have Time To Do Them
Anything you associate with comfort will be helpful, allowing you to relax, again making it less awkward.
10.SEX- Again, Totally If You Can Get It
Yes it's true. It some people out. Only if it's legal though guys ;)
11.BIRTH CONTROL- See Your Doctor
It lightens your period and is said to help greatly
12.GET YOUR UTERUS REMOVED- If Your Seriously Desperate
Ok guy's I'm probably joking here. =]
If None of this works for you see your Doctor for any other solutions.
