can I cut out my own scar tissue?
You technically could, but it's unwise to say the least. You'll only do further damage and create new scar tissue at best. At worst, you'll end up with a horrible, horrible infection.
I jammed a bok knife tip into my ring finger knuckle last july.
No blood, no torn skin.
It hurt like crap, and immediately got stiff and sore, but nothing was bloody and the knife tip is intact.
After a few moths, of excersizing it and massaging, there is NO bone damage.
I took Xrays, they show no break, just a lot of scar tissue around the joint.

It is the first joint- the one in between the hand knuckle and the smallest knuckle on my ring finger.
Ive been to hospital twice- NO broken bone, just this scar tissue.

It hurts to move it, stiff, if I sleep with my haND FLAT IT IS VERY STIFF.

They said to just massage it, and extend it, like physio.

It remains stiff, and really big.
My whole knuckle looks like a pea is inserted under the surface. I can put on a ring,
I can't wear gloves, but I have seen the Xrays- there is just scar tissue.

Can I cut out my own scar tissue?
I will use a brand new scalpel, and just take out a wedge.

This is driving me crazy, I can't draw properly ( I do art)
or put on gloves or a ring.
It hurts only if I sleep with my hand flat.- If I do the physio, the finger is fine, just a huge lump on the finger.

If I smooth out my hands and feel all the fingers, all of them, smooth, just this one knuckle feels like a large lump, but I know it is scar tissue, I have seen the three Xrays.

By now it is 8 months.
Can I cut it out myself?

let me say I am not american so I don't have the attitude that most of you have towards this kind of thing.
No, cutting does NOT always leave scar tissue- sometimes badly formed injuries cause scars, or uneven cuts, I have other surgery scars with no scar tissue, just a small mark.
Americans go to their doctor even if they have a spot on their nose, so I'm just saying, I am not from that paranoid mindset.

I want to talk seriosuly with GP but am not insured, thanks to the fantastic healthcare system in this country.. so this is why I am writing.
I either have to find cheap healthcare in Mexico or Thailand or put up, and I do not intend to do that.
