what should i look for when looking to buy a massage table with a head / arm rest for clinic use, not mobile
I preferred a table with a hole for the face cut out in the bed itself...as opposed to an attachment for the face that extends out from the table.
Check the padding. Some aren't padded well and uncomfortable. Go with extra padding.
Check the width. Some are narrower than others...making the clients a little nervous about turning over. The narrow ones increase the chance of the client falling off as they move around. Also, with the rise in obesity, the narrow tables aren't suited for overweight clients.
Obviously, you want a table that allows you to adjust the height, but actually try adjusting it to see how easy it is to do. Same goes with setting it up in general. Test it out.
Check the table for potential for tipping over. Some are kind of flimsy. You don't want one that tips over when your client gets on the table.
I am a student looking for a good basic sturdy massage table with a headrest and arm rest, one that will last for years to come, one that can handle up to 150kgs body weight; and my 80kgs of weight, I was told that my weight should be considered too because I am using my weight giving a massage even though I am standing beside the table.
What points shoold I be considering and questions that I should be asking when talking to suppliers. Any other things I should consider would be appreciated.
