Not overweight yet but will be soon: How did you shake your inactive, lazy, fast-food eating habits?

Not overweight yet but will be soon: How did you shake your inactive, lazy, fast-food eating habits?
A good motivator I find is watching the Biggest Loser. After a few episodes of that, I always feel encouraged to go out and exercise and get on a "get fit" kick.
I got on my treadmill the other day and after about 8 minutes, I was dizzy and feeling like I was going to throw up. Thats when it hit me...I've been leading an unhealthy life, and my body has been paying for it.

I'm in my late twenties and some weight has crept up on me over the past few years. I'm not overweight yet but, the nice firm body I used to have is now squishy. Also, my thighs, face, butt and belly are bigger than I would like them to be. When I calculate my BMI online I am only 5 pounds from being considered "overweight".

In school I was a dancer and cheerleader, so thats where I got my muscle from. Up until now, I've never had to really exercise or eat right to keep my weight where it was...now its catching up with me. I also feel tired and lazy all the time and I'm sure its from my crappy diet and not being active.

I really would like to eat more healthy and become more active. I want to feel energized and healthy again.

I need a plan that's fairly regular and not too confusing so I'll be able to stick to it. I have about an hour after work , and if I get my butt out of bed, I could probably manage a half an hour before leaving for work. I like walking/running outside, but right now its winter and freezing cold. I have a treadmill, some resistance bands, and some 5 lb weights. I also really like to do yoga, although, now I use it more for relaxation. I'm willing to buy dvd's or maybe even a plan like the Firm Wave if they REALLY work, but I'd rather have something I could do from memory.

What worked for you?

How did you get out of your lazy, fast-food eating habits? Were there any dvd's/plans you followed? Was there a diet you used to get jump started to a healthier life?
